Welcome to the Mad Fish Market! Here you will find bags, clothing and accessories, all handmade by me, the Mad Fish Monger. I sew all of my items on my grandmother's 1918 treadle sewing machine.
I can be contacted at madfishmarket at mail dot com or you can leave a comment here (you don't need an LJ account, you can post anonymously). Custom orders are welcome. Scroll down for links.
All items are one-of-a-kind, I never make two exactly the same. I take inspiration from all sorts of areas and styles, so if you don't see anything you like, I'll do my best to make it for you. I love a challenge!
To purchase an item online, please visit my Etsy store by clicking the banner below.

So I had this idea of maintaining both a crafting and a personal journal, but that's not happening. I will post about both crafting and life in my main journal,
madfishmonger (click the link to visit it). You can of course also visit my website (under construction) or my online store (click the links to visit).

Down Town Coffee Ground
Oct. 5th, 2008 | 06:28 pm
I'll be at this month's awesome super fun Downtown Coffee Ground with a few items for sale, my Tarot and I Ching cards and my lovely sister
amethyst42. It's at the Red Road Lodge (formerly the New Occidental) on Main St, the entrance is in the back by the Bike Dump. Come on down and check local talent on the open mic (or participate), have some delicious homemade food and snacks, and coffee and tea, and participate in the open art table. It's a family-friendly environment, bring the kids down. It's a good time, and if you're lucky, George will get up on stage and crack you up.
There is a suggested donation at the door. This is an entirely volunteer-run event. It starts at 7:30 pm., Monday October 6th. See you there!

is a Lovecraftian puppet play I helped make some costumes for, and is now on at the Fringe. The premiere was Wednesday, but there's still plenty of shows to see. I had a hell of a lot of fun with it, it was really interesting to see it all come together in the end. The marionettes are amazing!
Click here to see a review of the play by the Free Press. Three and a half stars! Not bad for a style and genre that has such a small (but devoted) fan base.
Click here to read the CBC review (with some nice touches added by other viewers)

Hi there, welcome to the Mad Fish Market. I sew all my (mostly) vintage items on my lovely 1911 Singer treadle machine. I inherited this maching from my great-grandmother, and it's been in use in our family ever since.
I love it.
As soon as I can get the camera hooked up, there'll be many photos of items for sale. For now, here are some of my older crafts. I must apologize for the quality of these photos. A new camera is in the works. :
